Default Absolute Attribute Max

So I've always been under the impression that 16 was the absolute max that an attribute could be at, but I was looking at the wiki recently and noticed that their skill effect tables go up to 18, and that got me thinking.

If you have an attribute at 16, and then add a bonus, like from a shrine blessing or an Easter egg, does it DO anything? Does it raise your stat to 17, or is it maxed out at 16?

no you can get blessings and have +1 weapon mods.

Yes, Lets say you have 16.. Death magic for example, then you get a +1 Death magic attribute boost from a shrine, you'll be at 17 Death, and if you have a +1 death(20% chance while using skills) wrapping on your staff (ghials for instance) then when that mod activates you will have +18 death magic.

Hmm i thought of something else, lets say you had 16 Blood magic and used the skill Awaken The Blood, which adds +2 attribute points to Blood and Curses, then you'd have 18 Blood magic, if you used a blessing and +1 blood wrap you could potentially have 20 blood magic, lol.

Or you could use skills like:
Glyph of Elemental Power: Your next 5 elemental spells have +2 to their attribute.
Awaken the Blood: You have +2 to curses and blood magic, but sacrifice double the amount of health when you sacrifice.

Shrines can give you +1. Weapons can give you +1.

I think the absolute max an attribute can go is 21. 16+2(AtB/ GoEP)+1(blessing)+1(wand)+1(offhand)

To Above: AtB only effects Blood and Curses.

EDIT: I just checked guildwiki and it has it up to 22 (on an ele). Anyone know how?

But they affect different attributes so you don't get +4 in all of them.

well 16 + 2 AtB or glyph + 1 (egg) + 1 from Lunar Blessing + 1 shrine + 1 from offhand
that would be 22 =)

also all the skills viables are predictable so u could even measure what it would be if your attibute was at lvl 100

ohh... maybe i'll do the prot bond thing =) lol cause of these eggs =) so i can get + 18 protection prayers and be a super invinci monk lol even though its effective eihter way. (prot spirit) just no recasting =)

**wands/weapons (1 handed anyways) dont give +1 for spells

Heres what i got,

elm: 16 max, + 2 from elmental power, + 1 (20% chance of course) from weapon, + 1 from shrines, now THE UNTESTED PART CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM THIS PART, +1 from egg, and +1 from lunar token, (assuming they stack) would give u a possible total if the weapon mod occured and the egg/lunar token stacked of 22.

Edit: so I'm agreeing with Unknowen1 but I'm just unsure if eggs and tokens stack

16 + 2 (glyph of ele power) +1 (shrine) +1(staff) +1(easter egg) +1(lunar fortune) = 22.

So far it's not possible to go 23.

Wiki only post the progresions to a point where they can actually test it, say with the glyph or awaken, or +1 offhands or shrines, even tho most can be easily calculated, wiki does not post what they cant test.

Thats why some skills you see the table go up to 20 and some maybe only 18.

Well, I have never seen it posted or said anywhere that the Lunar Fortune and Easter Egg don't stack.

So Elementalists can get up to 22? That's awesome.

I love being an Ele!

A-Net needs to make a +1 to all primary attributes of your whole party item, but ONLY the primary attributes.
